Cats/Griz Football Rivalry 〰️

A football rivalry that began in 1897 which is the 31st oldest in NCAA Division 1. This game is historically known as the Cat-Griz game or Griz-Cat game. The game is advertised as the Brawl of the Wild with the winner receiving a massive over 300lb. trophy named, Great Divide Trophy.

Since 1993 it has been the final game of the regular season for both teams and lately has had huge implications on conference championships as well as post season berths. After 2022 this game has been played 121 times! Montana leads the all-time series 73-42-5.

The show features four guests, two from each side, talking about the meaning to them of this rivalry. The show starts with Justin Green who played fullback for the Griz in 2003 & 2004 and is now the running backs coach for the University of Montana.

Next is Bobby Daly who played for the Cats from 2005-2008 and was a tackling machine. Currently is the asst. head & linebackers coach for MSU. Shifting back to Grizzly side we hear from Colt Anderson who was a three time All Big Sky First team Player from 2004-2009. Colt is the asst. special teams coach for the Cincinnati Bengals. We end with Logan Jones who was a running back from 2015-2019 for Montana State and was part of the Miracle in Missoula.
